Callback

Regular callback - PIN or ANI authorization

Callback service allows a user to rquest the system to call to his/her phone number first so that the user can answer and dial destination number without having to connect through local telecom. In many cases the cost of connection from callto.net system to user’s phone number will be cheaper than local operator’s rate, especially for international destinations.

Below are the steps of the callback scenario:

  1. user makes a call to 123333333 number, after initial 2-3 rings the call is rejected, the user hears busy tone
  2. in next 3-6 seconds the callto.net system calls back to the user’s phone (the number which was used in step 1 for triggering the callback service)
  3. the user answers the call
  4. the system plays the actual account balance
  5. systems asks for entering PIN (personal identification number) which is the user account’s password
  6. after successful authorization the system saves the caller ID so that the next time the user will not be asked for PIN
  7. the system asks user to enter destination phone number
  8. the system plays the maximum duration for the call and starts calling
  9. after the connection with the destination is ended by either side (to end from the user side the string #11 should be entered from phone’s keypad) the user is asked again to enter new destination number he/she wish to connect

The caller ID, i.e. the user’s phone number, can be also entered through the VSPortal in the Authorized callerIDs menu. The system will then use the numbers in order to authorize incoming connections. In this authorization mode the scenario differs from the above that there is no point 4, just after dialing the access number (1233333) the user can directly enter the destination number.

The service is available for both regular and mobile phones.

SMS callback

In this method the call to the user is initiated by an SMS (short text message) sent from a mobile phone to our service number +4860….

Using the commands contained in the SMS text, the user can send various requests to the system, not only to trigger the callback but also to regsiter the callerID for authorization purposes, check the current account balance or initiate a conference between two numbers.

The allowed commands are shown on the picture below

Web callback

The web triggered callback is sometimes refered to as to web conference or “connect two” service. User, after logging in to the VSPortal, can provide both numbers for source connection (legA) and the destination (legB). The system will try to connect both parties. During the whole process user can see real time messages on the each leg status (alerting, connected, ended, busy etc.).

The video below shows how the web callback works. Please notice that the callerID being displayed on the source leg (Iphone mobile) is the one entered by the user in the destination field. This is becouse our system forwards callerIDs from one called party to another.

In addition a user can select method of how the callback is carried out, i.e. whether it tries to connect the source first and only when connected to source, starts dialing the destination number or to start calling both numbers simultaneously.
